The Perch is one of the tastiest freshwater fish so it’s not surprising of it’s popularity. Closely related to the Walleye and live in many of the same waters, but rarely abundant where water clarity is very low. Their distribution are clear northern lakes with moderate weed growth, but have been stocked in southern waters. The world record perch is 4 pounds 3 ounces caught on the Delaware River, New Jersey in 1865.
